5 weeks more to the Mid Year Exams.
We have to concentrate if we want to do this right.
I know I'm nagging too but I want to stress how important this is.
Mid years = SUPER DUPER IMPORTANT.

-Biology:
  • Decorate Biology jotter book. Wrap the outsides with paper and decorate as you like. It MUST, however, have the word "Biology" somewhere on it and the things you draw/paste/print MUST be related to Biology along with your name, class and index number.
Due: Friday.

-English:
  • Look for synonyms for the words in red on page 15 of your IN Magazine. Please read the article on page 14 first before doing so.
Due: Wednesday
  • Read all the articles on pages A3, A4, A12, A13, B2, B5 and B7 of the Straits Times. WE might be quizzed on it tomorrow during English.
-Maths:
  • Maths textbook 1A. Page 78-80. Questions 1, 3, 6 & 7(a) - (f).
Due: Friday
  • Study for the class test that's coming up this Wednesday. (Topics to be tested: Rate, Speed & Percentage)

- Physics:
  • Find out the final answer for the third graph and finish up whichever graphs you haven't done.
- Chinese:
  • If you haven't, learn ting xie 7 & 8. We'll be tested BOTH tomorrow.
- English:
  • Find synonyms from Page 15 of Straits Times, IN "Magazine". Find those only for the words in RED.
- Maths:
  • Finish Chapter 10.2 Reverse Percentages worksheet.
- Art:
  • Divide your fourth page of your scrapbook into 4 by 4 rectangles (as accurate as possible)
- CD/RE:
  • Your planner (the calendar thing) Fill in your subject study plan and whatever. You are advised to use a different colour for each subject (Due next Monday)
For Chinese girls, Please remember to bring the
  • Zuo Ye Book and
  • Zuo Wen Book
to hand up. Don't make Miss Fu/any other teacher angry.

Also, we DON'T NEED TO BRING the Science textbook tomorrow. Just bring a sheet (or two) of graph paper.

Hello dear 1 Faith peeps!
Hahaha. Since we've all just started secondary school, this is a crucial period to study really hard (as well as prepare ourselves for competitions in CCAs) for the mid year exams.
So, I'm telling you all, please take good care of your health and
Don't Fall Sick.
It really wouldn't be the best time to fall sick unless you know everything we're about to learn. Even so, you can't afford it.
So don't.
If you have a weak body and you know that you're bound to fall sick sometime soon, make sure you take extra care of yourself.
So, just to KP a bit more, I shall give you all the tips you need to keep healthy and plan your time well.
Let's get started!
Hahah. The most common causes for missing school is without a doubt, fever. Flu and coughs too. So, just listen to your parents when they tell you to,
- Drink more water
- Eat less fried food/salty food/sweets/unhealthy food (blahblahblah)
- Eat more fruits, more veggies
- Exercise more
- Maintain a healthy mind (Okay, not all parents tell you this. I shall tell you how to maintain a healthy mind later)
Yes, just do it. "It's all for your own good". We've all heard this line before.
You can afford to fall sick during the holidays but if you do on school days, you might not be able to catch up. Falling sick is also inevitable so if you do/already are, HURRY REST WELL, TAKE YOUR MEDICINE AND RECOVER!
Maintaining a healthy mind:
Basically, I have had ALOT of people call me neat freak, guaikia, perfectionist, super organised girl & all the wierd names that are supposed to be compliments. I'd like to share my method. (NOTE: I DO NOT USE THE STUDENT ORGANISER THE SCHOOL USES. I USE MY OWN SIMPLE NOTEBOOK)
What I do (that you can do) is,
- I tend to plan my events carefully. Write them down in a section of your notebook which is somewhat prominent. Strike them off when it's over.
- Record the homework (WITH ALL THE NEEDED INSTRUCTIONS) very carefully & clearly. Tick/strike them off when it's done. NOTE: NEVER TAKE SHORTCUTS. Do what you are supposed to. If you haven't done something, don't strike it off until it's done. Resist the urge to.
- NEVER EVER EVER PROCRASTINATE. If your due date for a project is a few days away & you know you don't have the time a few days later but have free time now, do the project NOW. Don't procrastinate and freak out. NEVER slack and then burn midnight oil trying to finish the work. You'll fall sick from lack of sleep and stress.
- Know exactly what you're going to do and when you're gonna do it.
- Leave a page in your notebook that's strictly personal for doodling. Express your emotions there. It helps, trust me.
- Write down the grades, A1, A2, B3, B4,C5, C6, D7, E8, F9 (if you don't alr know) in a VERY PROMINENT AND IMPORTANT PART of your notebook and write down your test results and goals so you know what you want and how you're gonna work for it.
- MAKE SURE I KEEP A STRICT ROUTINE IN EVERYTHING. Eg, If I'm using a notebook to be organised, I make sure I follow that routine and use that notebook wisely.
With all these to help you, you should be able to do your best. I'm willing to help, if you need me!
Your health and frame of mind is in your own hands.
As my choir conductor says, teamwork is very important. Unite as one to make wonders kay!

Okay, let's get this straight.
Because I have had 2 people ask me so far, I don't want to be called and asked again.
Many of you people think that we are supposed to do the retold fairy tale as holiday homework.
NO, WE'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO.
Miss Heng has alr said that that one is supposed to be done individually in class after the hols.
So for the benefit of the people who aren't clear, I hope you know now.
And just to add on, this is the holiday homework. (I don't want people to ask me about the art also)
- Art:
  • Follow the instructions on the handout Mrs Khoo gave about "imitating" the artist. Ask Mrs Khoo personally ASAP if you have questions. (Don't keep asking me. I'm not the one that marks your CT or teaches you Art)
  • The shoe thing. You are supposed to SHADE THE SHOE ONLY. DO NOT PAINT/COLOUR/DECORATE/WHATEVER.
- Maths:
  • The holiday homework handout Miss Liu gave us. Do only the CIRCLED questions on foolscap paper.
-English:
  • English Language Creative Essay Writing Competition. (Type and print)
  • Composition (Letter to penpal)
- Literature:
  • Do the COMPULSORY QUESTION NUMBER 5 (Yes, it's NA. Miss Chia hasn't taught us how to do question 4 yet so we only do question 5) [Best to type and print]
  • Another question that you want to do. [Best to type and print]
  • The Crossword Puzzle
-Chinese:
  • Learn Chinese spelling 7&8
  • Chinese composition
  • Zuo Ye 7&8
  • Don't forget corrections for Zuo Ye/Zuo Wen.
-Extras:
  • Please sign & hand in the Progress Report Book preferably by Monday when school re-opens.

If I'm not mistaken, this is it. Please attempt everything. Even if you don't know how to do anything, just try. Then no one can scold you 'cause you tried your best.
For those that need to return to school for CCA or camps like myself,
Try your best to plan your time well and finish all the work.
I know I sound like some teacher/mother now.
